The Sadar, or volatilisglaciessapian (flying snow thinker), are native to a cold, unforgiving world. They evolved from eel like animals in a highly active volcanic part of the frozen ocean, and moved to the surface when food beneath the ever-freezing ocean became scarce. In order to avoid being slaughtered by the animals already living (and feeding) on the surface, they converted their swim bladder into a flotation bladder over millions of years. Soon, they hovered above the snow, scooping up little critters with their long, hanging tentacles and shoving them greedily into their mouths on the bottom of their bodies. As they followed the animals North, they soon reached the warmer, unfrozen equator of their icy hell of a planet. Soon, they grew more intelligent and, no longer able to surprise prey with their snow-white coloring, began throwing sticks and rocks at animals to kill them. Throwing sticks and rocks soon evolved into throwing sticks with sharpened rocks on them, and thus the Sadar became intelligent. Soon, they gained sentience, and built civilizations of their own.
As you can see from the picture, their tentacles are somewhat leaf shaped, covered in tiny hairs on the bottom that aid in the act of gripping things and stuff.
I just wanted to try something a little more alien.
Well, that's very alien - could this be the thing the Qu evolved from?

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
